Valentines, snow, and kids growing up

Happy Valentines Day!

I woke up to this nice little treat from my sweet man this morning.
He knows me well.  I love flowers of every kind and color.
He also knows I have a thing for Monkeys.... LOL!
AND... he was kind enough to NOT give me any candy as I have again, given it up for Lent.

Our of nowhere yesterday we got a snow storm.  I'd say about an inch an hour. Totaling 2-3"
This was a shot at the very beginning I sent J.  It was fluffy and really pretty.  Today it
is completely gone!  50 degrees and sunny.  We have had the weirdest weather this year.

A little something I'm working on.  Large granny square blanket.
She's not really wonky, its just how its laying.
Oh.. and thats brown not black.
Pretty combo in person.

One last thing.
Our son is a pledge for a fraternity.  He's pretty excited about it and
enjoying the process.  He called me this morning (so thankful for those calls)
to check in and see how we're doing.  We talked briefly as he said
he was really busy and had to get over to the frat house.   I was curious
as to what was going on and he said he has to clean.  I was like, clean?
He said yeah mom, I have a daily check list and today its clean the kitchen.

Excuse me for just a second.........

Ok.. I had to pick myself up off the floor.

I don't think my pampered son has ever cleaned the kitchen in his 18.7 yrs.

I have seen a maturity in this kid that I truly never expected.
I am shocked, in awe and very proud of all the growing up,
responsibility, real life decisions, etc. he is making.

Proud mama moment....
Even if my son is mopping and scrubbing a kitchen sink that doesn't belong to me.

Have a good one!

Lovely flowers! I was also awe struck when we did a pop in visit with our middle son when he was still at college. I was shocked to see how tidy his apartment was especially his room. I don't think I ever saw his floor when he was growing up and here he was at college and kept a clean apartment! Yes, those moments make us proud!
