abrupt end tonight. We (hubby and me) decided to take advantage of a
beautiful day. Yesterday we enjoyed a day-date.
We started off by dropping our daughter to HS and off to breakfast at FirstWatch.
After a yummy breakfast we made our way to the city. I have to be honest, I'm not a city person.
I'm just not, but if we want to enjoy a little "culture" we drive to the city to see
the Krohn's Conservatory and the Cincinnati Art Museum.
We made a little detour in Mt. Adams (it reminds me of San Francisco a teeny bit) to see a beautiful historic church that is famous for its steps. For 150 years people have been "praying the steps" on
Good Friday at Holy Cross Immaculata church. (1860) Its a beautiful church perched
up on a big hill overlooking the Ohio River.
About mid morning the Conservatory opened for visitors.
We could literally smell Spring in the air. Wish I could have bottled it.
The Enchanted Forest
Get ready for Spring!!!
Can you smell them? J/K.. we could though.
They had a variety of about 10 citrus trees surrounding the gardens.
The tulips were magnificent.
Check out these miniature Hobbit Houses.. A-DOR-A-BLE!
There were about 10 of them throughout.
You ready for Spring yet??
Me too.
I took a TON of pictures, but we had lingered long enough and it was time
to check out the art museum. Fortunately, it was right around the corner.
Pinocchio welcomed us to the museum. Solid Bronze and 12ft. tall.
I took only 2 pictures at the museum and I'm not sure if I was really
allowed to photograph these pieces so I wont be posting them here.
Apparently when items are on loan to the museum and not owned
by the museum, you cannot photograph them... O....K...... (who knew?)
We ate lunch and before we knew it, it was time to fetch our girl.
Straight to a basketball game and home. It was a long day,
but well enjoyed. We need a few more of those I think. ;O)
So, how have you been?

Sooooo ready for spring, just not all the pollen and allergies that go with it. We got out to play that day, but it was all short lived. The flowers are gorgeous!!!
Amy, thanks for sharing your trip. It was much needed medicine for my soul. Things have been a bit hard around here. My sister's hub was diagnosed with cancer so it has been a roller coaster. Plus I have the flu AGAIN! Second time since Christmas. So..... tired and coughing. Needless to say your uplifting photos were nice to see. I love the beautiful church photos so inspirational and the flowers are amazing. Very cheerful, colorful and hopeful and that is the way to spread sunshine. So thank you!
Wow, what gorgeous pics!
We are having a cold, snowy day here in Michigan.
I think I am ready for Spring!
Take care and Happy Weekend!
Yes! Spring can't get here fast enough. January has come and gone and February only has 28 days so spring should be here before we know it. My crocuses(sp?) are up and the daffodilis are up about an inch so they are getting impatient too.
That church is gorgeous. The architecture is amazing.
