I've mentioned in the past that I own and enjoy an E~reader.
My first er~eader was the NOOK (B&N) with E~ ink.
If you're not familiar, its basically a black and white, non back lit
reader. The pages resemble real book pages. Its a very basic
model, and I've enjoyed using it.
I originally chose the Nook with E~ink because I wanted something
that was going to be easy on the eyes. Without boring you too much,
I do have eye issues, use corrective lens' and have an eye obstruction
in one eye. So basically, I just didn't need anymore issues to deal with.
To look at me, you'd never know, but to see through my eyes is quite interesting
let me tell ya... SO....The Nook was the perfect option for me.
Fast forwarding to this past Christmas, my hubs decided to surprise me
with the Kindle Fire (Amazon). I even told him I was in no way interested in that
reader because I was concerned the back lit screen was going to bother
and tire my eyes when reading. Well he decided I was getting one anyway... lol.
I have to admit, when I first opened the box I was like... uh... thanks.. but......
He told me to give it a try and see how it went. I'm so glad I did. It is
an amazing device that I can watch movies, tv shows, internet surf, read books..etc., etc....
The Kindle Fire has several options allowing for the page to be black with white
type, white with black type or a beige with brown type. The beige with
brown type is my personal favorite. Its so gentle on my eyes and even though
its back lit (which means I can read in the dark or low lit areas just fine) I have
had NO issues with my eyes. Whoot!
I know many are just not into the E~readers. Some prefer the feel of a book,
turning the pages, etc. I used to feel the same way. In fact I still do at times.
It took very little time for me to become a real fan.
I've shared this site in the past. It is updated daily, sometimes multiple times
a day, and you never know what kind of genre you will find. I have found
and downloaded MANY books for FREE. ( I lurv free) You can also download books
from your local library which is really nice.
The whole reason for this post, is not to sell you on an e~reader.
I just wanted to share my personal experience with the 2 devices in
case anyone is on the fence about choosing one. They are both great
readers, but the Nook is basically (IMO) mostly for reading, where as the
Kindle Fire is more of a multi~purpose device. I still love and use them both.
Do you own an e~reader? Do you have a favorite site for downloading books?
If you have Kindle Fire, do you use Premier? Love for y'all to share.
