About 2 years ago last month, hubs and I redecorated our Master bedroom.
I say we, because I really like to get his opinion on what he likes and doesn't like.
We both live in our home, and I always want him to feel like he has a say in how it looks.
I posted about that "redo" HERE.
Here's a peek at what its looked like for the last 2 years. I kept everything
basically the same, but we grew tired of it.
BEFORE MAKEOVER:
We discussed what we were looking for and we really wanted to "lighten" things up.
Most of the wood in our home is dark, and we do love it. That being said, we just
wanted something different. We looked online, and decided we wanted to paint the
furniture again. This time going with a lovely shade of creamy white. We tag teamed
a couple weekends ago, and painted 4 pieces. It took 3 coats of a primer based paint.
I started looking for some neutral, creamy white colored bedding as well. I found this quilt
and sham set from Better Homes and Gardens. I love the colors. The main
color is a creamy off white. The reverse color of the quilt is a soft gray. The
stitching is a combination of light and dark gray as well. Being that its very
neutral, we needed to add a little boldness.
Thats when I found a dark gray bedskirt at Target.
....... and the sheets are from IKEA. Also a dark gray.
Ok.. so we were starting to get a balance between the light and the dark.
It was time to start adding some color. That's when we chose the curtains.
I found the PERFECT color at the Christmas Tree Shop. Yes, you read that
right. Weird name, pretty neat store that sells a little of everything. Not only
are they a great color, but they are textured as well. The only problem is.....
the lighting. I'm having a hard time sharing the true color of the curtains.
They are a beautiful blue/green color.
Well... it looks like you just got a peek of a canvas we purchased at IKEA for the
wall in between the windows. Here's a better view. Its fairly large and really
adds the perfect splash of color we were looking for.
While we were hanging things up, I wanted to share this unique wall embellishment
we purchased at Target. Oops.. its a little hard to see it in this pic... keep scrolling....
Ok.. this ones better. They appear to be metal, but they're actually plastic.
We wont have to worry about getting conked in the head in the middle of the night.. HA!
Ok.. so we've got our furniture painted, bed linens, curtains and a few wall hangings.
Something still seems a bit off. We need more color! These should help a little.
The bed still needed more color. We remedied that with an additional blanket,
and more pillows, adding more COLOR.
You can now see where the butterfly project ended up.
The framed piece on hub's side is actually 4 map circles.
Places we'd love to travel to someday.
Well that's about it for now. I'm sure I'll be adding more
things to those shelves and switching things up a bit here and there.
Not too bad for a simple, low budget makeover.

The grey and cream white are very pretty together along with the extra colors. Looks like a very restful space for you. Take care, P.
That is very very pretty! I am like you and consult with the hubs on a lot of projects. Some he loves, some not so much LOL!
That turned out so nice. I think my favorite thing is the beautiful canvas. I also love the pops of color you chose. So peaceful, I think I could take a nap there.
