Sherry from Young House Love and a few of her buddies are having a little Par~tay today.
Pick something you've "pinned" lately and make it.
Possibly put your own spin on it.
Thought I would give it a go.
I Pinned this pillow below. I love the large flower! I plan to make
my flower red as well, but I will be using a different colored fabric for the pillow itself.
Here we go..........
The tutorial called for (20) 2 1/1" felt circles.
(The Panera courtesy cup worked perfectly.)
(30) 3 1/2" circles.
(My star bowl did the job.)
Enough fabric to cover the front and back of your
existing pillow or new pillow form.
My pillow measures 18" x 19".
Cut each circle in 1/2.
I used my cake carrier to make a nice large circle on my fabric.
I used a pen to trace the circle.
Using coordinating red thread, sew the 1/2 circles directly to the fabric.
It goes surprisingly fast!
Keep sewing in circles using up all the large 1/2 circles first.
As I got closer to the center, I started using the smaller 1/2 circles.
The very center of the flower is an uncut circle. Machine sew in place.
Cut a piece of fabric for the back of the pillow.
Machine sew three sides, insert pillow and pin closed.
Whip stitch the end closed.
I quickly ran out of daylight, so outside I went to take advantage of the
last bit of natural light.
This is actually a fairly large pillow.
It's new home will be on my sofa in my "creative space".
So how did I do?
